Freemans - 2-6 Spottiswoode Road, Edinburgh.
For a relaxing Wednesday afternoon, I wanted to try out Freemans Coffee in the Marchmont area of Edinburgh. It is relatively new, or, at least for me, as I haven't properly lived in Edinburgh for 3 years now - and it looked really cool from the outside.
Super friendly waitress, nice design - quite simple - but not too pretentious, great coffee and good carrot cake (which they added ginger to, which was quite cool - so maybe I will try adding it to my carrot cake recipe which you can find here).
Seems to be a great place to study or work too, as it was relatively quiet and there were more than a few macbooks pattering away on table-tops.
Later that evening I went to see 'Inside Llewyn Davis' at the Filmhouse (the kindof arty art-house cinema) and had epic nachos, got the brochure and starred far too many films that I want to see and stayed far too long reading the credits at the end of the film.
A really nice afternoon/evening in all, and you should check out Freemans website - it's pretty snazzy.
